When did you start your business?

Do you consider the location of your shop a key factor to the business’s success?

Ohhhh yes absolutely. It’s the only reason I’m here, because of this location. We are literally right on the water, on Alii Drive, in the heart of Kailua Kona.

Who is your average buyer?

18-30 male and female.

If a total Barney walks in do you treat him with the same respect as a full on loc?Nope. Everybody has to start at the bottom of the ladder and work their way up for respect.

What is the dumbest question that a customer has ever asked?

“Where is the ocean??” (this shop is literally right on the water)

Do you have a mascot (ex. - An animal that roams freely throughout the building)?

What is the craziest return a customer has ever tried to make?

We have a weekend dog that stays with us. Dogs are always welcome in the shop.

Haven’t had one yet actually, lol

Does your store support any local surfers or have a surf team?

We do support the local Kona crew. We do have an “athlete of the month” we do as well.

What is your most annoying grom story?

Don’t really have one. They’re all great kids.

Have you ever had any type of celeb roll in and make a purchase?

Nope not yet.

Have you ever pulled a hot chick/guy solely due to the fact that you own/manage a surf shop?

Nope not yet.

How many days a week do you surf now compared to before you owned/managed a surf shop?

Pretty much the same actually.

Who is your favorite surfer and why?

Mick Fanning- He’s surfs super fast and completely blows up. Plus he rides for Rip Curl.

Has a customer trying on clothes ever walked out completely naked?

Nope not yet. Still waiting.

Has a person ever walked in totally blitzkrieged (really intoxicated) and tried to make a purchase? If so elaborate.

Surprisingly not yet. I guess we don’t stay up late enough, lol

Every store has to deal with shoplifting. What is your most memorable experience and what is your shoplifting policy?

We had a girl steal 3 things from us. We didn’t catch her, but I know who she is so when I see her she’s dead meat. Our shoplifting policy is- catch them and beat the crap out of them.

And last but not least tell us one of the craziest shop stories you can remember?

Not yet actually since we’ve only been opened a few weeks, but I’m sure there’s plenty to come.
